Moroccan Tamegroute Ceramic Lamp
This vintage handcrafted green enameled lamp is a mere sculpture from the Southern Moroccan village of Tamegroute, where skilled potters have practiced local techniques that have been passed down through generations. The characteristic green glazes, ranging from earthy olives to vivid greens, are the result of variations in a traditional mixture of magnesium, copper oxide and barley flour. With its unique form, vibrant color and the heavily grained glaze, this unique lamp strikes a perfect balance between art and design, the embodiment of a unique and long-lived craft. The anthropomorphic and abstract shape is similar to those of Jean Arp, Valentine Schlegel, Jean Lerat, Jacqueline Lerat, Pierre Székely, Vera Szekely, Georges Jouve, André Borderie, Roger Capron, Simone Bodmer-Turner...
